If you’re anything like me, you constantly think about your physical appearance and say harsh and unkind things to yourself — more times than you want to admit… (Am I right?)
But guess what…
People don’t see you as a “body.” The people who love you — love you because of your character, quirks, and unique God-given traits. The ones that make you so incredibly amazing 😉.
Before we delve into the realm of physical wellness, let me assure you that this is a judgment-free zone! A place where shame and guilt have no power.
Your struggles with negative body image are valid, and you’re not alone in this journey 🤗.

Physical Wellness Definition
Physical wellness — as a Christian woman — encompasses the harmony between caring for your body and embracing your unique self as a daughter of God.

By recognizing your inherent worth and value — you can pursue on a transformative journey of self-love…
Where physical wellness becomes a means to honor and care for the beautiful vessel that God has entrusted to you…
It’s an invitation to embrace your body with grace and kindness, celebrate its strengths, and pursue your journey toward wholeness and freedom.
Dimensions of Wellness
Although you’re learning about physical wellness — I want to make sure you see the full scope of wellness…
(Quick heads up: I broke each wellness dimension down into bite-sized pieces of information — so it’s helpful and not overwhelming.)
In your pursuit for holistic wellness — there are 8 dimensions of wellness to consider.
Each dimension of wellness plays a vital role in your well-being:
1. Physical Wellness
Nourishing and caring for your body through movement, nutrition, and rest.
2. Spiritual Wellness
Exploring your faith, finding meaning and purpose, and seeking a profound and intimate relationship with God first, then with mature Christians.
3. Emotional Wellness
Cultivating a healthy range of emotions, coping with stress, and nurturing positive relationships.
4. Intellectual Wellness
Engaging in lifelong learning, stimulating your mind, and pursuing intellectual growth.
5. Social Wellness
Building and nurturing meaningful connections, fostering a sense of belonging and support.
6. Occupational Wellness
Finding fulfillment and satisfaction in your work, balancing career aspirations and personal life.
7. Environmental Wellness
Creating a harmonious relationship with your surroundings, appreciating and enjoying nature.
8. Financial Wellness
Being satisfied with your current and future financial situations and reducing stress related to money.

Engage in activities that you enjoy and get your body moving. Aim for 30 minutes a day. It can be in 3 bouts of 10 minutes!
2. Nutrition
Fuel your body with yummy, nourishing foods, recognizing that you are called to honor God with your choices.
3. Rest
Prioritize sufficient sleep and rest, understanding that God grants rest as a gift to restore and rejuvenate you.
4. Self-Care
Take time for self-care and relaxation. Treat yourself with the same compassion and kindness you give others.
Why Is Physical Wellness Important

1. By prioritizing physical wellness, you honor your body as a gift from God…
2. Aaaand you demonstrate gratitude for the life and amazing blessings He has given you.

The Bible teaches us to care for our bodies because they are a gift from God.
- We are called to honor Him by treating our bodies with respect and gratitude.
2. Self-Control
- Scripture encourages us to exercise self-control in all aspects of life, including our habits, choices, and behaviors related to our physical health.
3. Loving Others
- Loving our neighbors as ourselves extends to physical wellness as well. When we prioritize our own health, we are better equipped to serve and care for others.
While the Bible may not provide a specific checklist for physical wellness, it guides you to live with intention, embracing the grace and love of God in every aspect of your life.

Romans 12:1 says, “… present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.” Then 1 Corinthians 6:20 reinforces, “For you were bought with a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.”
